Rocky Pointe Marina - Overview
Thank
you for visiting our website! We hope you will find plenty
of helpful information during your visit!
Rocky
Point Moorage was purchased by the Tonnesons in 1991. The
facility name was changed to Rocky Pointe Marina LLC in 1994.
Rocky Pointe Marina encompasses approximately 3,200 feet of
waterfront and 18 acres of uplands, approximately one-fourth
of which are wetlands. The facility is a well lighted, secure
marina located midpoint on the Multnomah Channel at river
mile 14 (land mile 16 on Hwy 30). The marina includes a fuel
dock dispensing gas and diesel, a small convenience
store, restrooms included with showers, washers and dryers
for tenants for the public. We have stationary and portable
pump-out equipment available to the boating public and our
live aboard population at no charge.
Our
population at Rocky Pointe Marina is an eclectic, comfortable
mix of professional, blue-collar white-collar skilled labor,
artists, writers, firemen, entertainers, clerical, and retirees,
etc, etc, etc. Our tenants moor houseboats, boathouses, motor
boats, and sailboats, in open and covered slips and side tied
on our walkways.
We
have built a 5 acre lake, (Lake Stanley) on the west side
of the access road to the Middle and Lower sections of the
marina (MRP and LRP). The lake is a dedicated Wildlife Sanctuary
and has been named in honor of Rich's father, Stanley C. Tonneson
who died in 1994. Our wildlife population includes geese,
ducks, otter, beaver, nutria, muskrats, land turtle, frogs,
hummingbird, swallows, woodpeckers, bald eagles, hawks, heron,
blue jays, king fishers, merganser, and our granddaughter,
Sarah's personal favorite: lady bugs and earth worms.
We
are in full compliance with all DEQ. DSL, COE, DFW, Dept.
of Environmental Services, Division of Land Use Planning (Mult.
Co. Planning), State of Oregon Health Department, USCG, State
Fire Marshall, and Scappoose Fire Districts rules, regulations
and requirements.
So
again, Welcome Aboard Rocky Pointe Marina. Enjoy the peaceful,
serene, rural setting we have come to love so much and take
care of our precious environment and wildlife.
